At the time, that made him one of the first growers of Honduran tobacco for premium cigars. Yet Julio’s real claim to fame is his adaptation of genuine Cuban Corojo seeds to Honduras’ amazing soil. The result was beyond all expectations, and these very “Authentic Corojo” tobaccos have been responsible for the incomparable taste and complexity found in every JRE cigar for more than 50 years.
