Cigar News: Highclere Castle Senetjer Returns To Honor King Tut Discovery

A Limited Edition Perfecto “Of The Gods” Crafted for All

Ellington, CT – Foundation Cigar Company recently announced that the Highclere Castle Senetjer cigar is now an annual release and will be limited to 500 boxes. The 12 cigar black & gold box, beautifully designed with ancient hieroglyphics, was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the unearthing of Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamen’s tomb.

“There was such an outcry and love for Senetjer that we all thought an annual November release was appropriate,” said Foundation Cigars owner Nicholas Melillo.

Highclere Castle Senetjer is a stunning 6¾ x 52 perfecto deftly rolled in an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and three-year-aged fillers which are undisclosed.

In 1922 King Tut’s tomb was discovered by the famed archeologist Howard Carter who’s quest was funded by the great-grandfather of Lord Carnarvon, George Herbert. To celebrate this amazing historical anniversary, Foundation owner Nicholas Melillo teamed up with the Herbert family to create this limited-edition cigar presented in a decorative box designed to replicate one found in the tomb. And in another novel move, Melillo collaborated with archaeologists Colleen and John Darnell to translate Highclere Castle into ancient hieroglyphics which are inscribed on the box facing. Senetjer is the ancient Egyptian word for incense, which directly translates to “of the gods.”
