Cigar News: New Macanudo Inspirado Cigars Will Feature Tercio Aging

Reading Time: 2 minutes

New Blend is Derived From Old-World Tobacco Aging Technique

Macanudo Inspirado cigars have gone “old school.” Using the time-honored tradition of tercio aging, the upcoming limited edition cigars are appropriately titled, Macanudo Inspirado Tercio-Aged. The new selection is handcrafted at General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago and will ship to retailers in April.

The blend is derived from the laborious old world technique in which tobaccos are aged in handmade bales made of royal palm bark. For Macanudo Inspirado Tercio Aged it’s the Dominican Piloto Cubano filler tobaccos that have been chosen to languish in this specialized environment for six months. The result is a cigar that is more refined, complex, and fragrant.

An Indonesian binder encases the Dominican-Colombian filler core, and the cigars are finished with a Mexican San Andreas capa. The result is an intriguing medium-bodied smoke with rich, earthy notes, a smooth white pepper finish, and an alluring aroma.

The cigar will be available in two limited edition sizes, and only 3,400 boxes released in the U.S.

Macanudo Inspirado Tercio-Aged Toro: (6” x 54); SRP per cigar $10.49
Macanudo Inspirado Tercio-Aged Churchill: (7” x 49); SRP per cigar $10.99

A QR code appears on the cigar’s bands and boxes which links the smoker to a video that brings the tercio-aging process to life. CA
