I must open by stating that I favor Padron cigars, but I populate my humidor with a plurality of Arturo Funetes Hemmingways. Needless to say, that Fuentes Hemmingways are at the shorter end (length) of quality cigars, it is ,therefore, somewhat out of step to smoke a Padron Magnum at 9 inches. After 5 Magnums, I find it a smoke more suited to an aggresive style for the first third. It is head spinning, but the flavors are accentuated by a multiple draw. the tempurature is cooled by the length of the cigar, so it is comfortable to get aggressive with this stick in the first third. If you are looking for a 2 hour relaxing smoke, you will find this stick somewhat drawn out and slightly boring. If, however, you attack this smoke, you will find that it will slow you down in a short time. I know that we all have a consistent approach to smoking cigars and cigars of this length ussually require a resignation and commitment of time. this is counter to an aggresive smoking style from the begining. I reccomend an aggresive style, until you feel the cigar fight back, then a slower more measured approach for the last half of the smoke. In summary, this is an excellent smoke if you need a smoke to slow you down. don't take on this smoke if you want to wade your way through two hours, but count on it to slow you down if you are on the high end of your day and need a challege. this cigar will slowly wear you down into sweet earthy resignation along with an escort of your favorite spirits. less

I have read the great reviews so I bought 5 pack. This is a decent medium bodied smoke but for the money there are many lower priced premium cigars available. I prefer a full bodied maduro and I would not put this cigar in the full bodied catagory. This does give you a 56 ring size, which I like, but I actually prefer a 60 ring size which smokes much cooler. The Padron has a dull maduro wrapper with a boring one dimensional taste. If you are looking for a better full bodied cigar at a better price try Rocky Patel Edge 6X60 Battalion, 601 Habano Oscuro Trabuco or for about same price try the Oliva Series V 6X60 Double Toro. All of these offer a much better appearance, a lot more flavor and a much longer smoke to enjoy. I am not saying the Padron is a bad cigar but very pricey for a average tasting cigar. less

This is the first medium bodied cigar of the Padron collection I have smoked. That said, I was struck by the calm, mellow smoke and the variety of flavors that came from it. I really enjoyed this cigar and would definitely smoke another. It wasn't buy a box worthy, but it was an excellent cigar. less

I smoked one three days after I bought the five pack, thinking, "Well, it's not an anniversary blend, but let's give her a go". Wow. Wow. Wow! Make no mistake. This is not a 1926, nor a 1964. It is a primo all its own. It really is a Maduro, so if you don't like a bit of a fuller taste, try the Natural instead. Otherwise, even after just three days in my humidor, I clearly tasted the cocoa and expresso, and it was almost perfection, ALL THE WAY THROUGH. Excellent draw, excellent smoke, excellent burn. The last four of the pack were a little better due to time spent in the humidor, but seriously, this cigar should cost far more than $6.40. Especially considering it stacks up easily against any $13-$25 cigar I've smoked. less

It's not very often that a perfect cigar comes along. A wonderful 80 minute smoke with a single malt Islay scotch. I didn't want this smoke to end. Long white ash, totally even burn the whole way, lots of smoke-more than 20 smoke rings, wonderful flavor and aroma, great and easy draw, real nice appearance and construction. WOW ! less

This is a seriously large cigar. Just think about it. If you cut it in half, you would have two full-sized Rothschilds. It is rich, strong and complex in flavor. Smoke it slowly and evenly and be well rewarded with 90 minutes or more of flavors varying throughout the cigar. The second half has collects some nicotine from the first half and can result in a rather heady cigar. This cigar also ages well, smoothing out over a year or so, if you like to have flavor without quite so much strength. Buy a fiver to try it. If you like it, buy a box and take your time smoking them. less

The construction has been consistent. The descriptions of a hint of coffee and cocoa are accurate. The pre-light aroma is wonderful. And when you light up, there is a ton of smoke. It is strong, but still pretty smooth. Just make sure you set aside some serious time! (Or cut it in two and smoke your first of two Rothschilds!) less

I normally smoke Cubans (PSD4s, Cohiba Siglo II and IVs, Cohiba Genios among my favorite), nevertheless I wanted to try an alternative and decided to buy two "premium Nicaraguans". I recently got a box of Padron 6000 Torpedos and a box of Oliva serie V ligero figurados. Between these two I would strongly recomend the Oliva. The Padron 6000 T where OK, but just that... OK... If you want to try Nicaraguans in this price range, I recomend go for the Oliva serie V. less
