Rocky Patel American Market Selection Cigars Description

Lush, mellow-smoking cigars from Rocky Patel in an affordably-priced 'American Market Selection.' Also referred to as 'AMS,' the term comes from the mild, light-colored wrappers that were preferred by American smokers early in the 20th Century. Blended with long-aged Nicaraguan & Honduran longfillers rolled in silky, Ecuadorian Connecticut wrappers, the smoke is medium-bodied, creamy, and very aromatic with subtle flavors of sweet cedar and spice throughout. A *must-smoke* and a great buy!

This cigar is constructed very well. Nice size and great taste. Although this is the first one I have tried, the burn was even and the draw was excellent. Good draw has always been one the most important aspects of a good cigar. I will try more and see how they do. If they do as well as the first one, I will be ordering more. less

These were recommended by FSS as a less-expensive alternative to my usual Montecristo White Especial No. 3s. The strength and flavor were close to the Montes, if slightly bitter by comparison. Out of the five sticks I ordered, two had wrappers that "unrolled" as soon as I took the cellophane off-- sort of like Christmas wrapping paper. I had to use a little saliva (shades of cigarette rolling!) to get them to stay put, though they kept coming off during the smoke. If two out of five were this way, I'm wary of buying an entire box of them. But, the smoke was decent enough that I might risk it. less

Bought the RP AM Robusto for $6.50. It was not good in any way. From the moment I opened the wrapper and stuck the cigar in my mouth I could tell it just tasted wrong. After lighting it it was like a cheap Mexican cigar. Had to stop smoking it after a few tries. Would never buy another one. less

I don't usually like mild to medium bodied cigars. Nor do I usually like Connecticut wrappers. When purchasing a couple of boxes of RP Cuban Blend (one of my faves) Famous sent several RP robustos as a bonus. This American Market Selection robusto knocked me out with cream and nuts. The burn was excellent, as was the appearance and draw. I just couldn't stop thinking about how much I enjoyed this cigar; so I ordered a box that has been aging over 6 months now. I'll wait at least another 6 months. I'm expecting very good things. I see why Famous claims it's their best selling box cigar. less
