A legendary old-school smoke, back in action. Rolando Reyes Sr. was turning out nearly 6 million Cuba Aliados cigars a year before Castro's government seized his factory in the early 1960s. He took the brand into exile, from New Jersey to Miami and finally to Honduras in 1990, and Cuba Aliados built a devoted following during the cigar boom days.
Now, it’s back. Today, the Cuba Aliados Original Blend is handmade by Julio Eiroa's family at Fabrica de Puros Aladino at Los Lomas Jamastrán, and it's Honduran through and through. Honduran wrapper, Honduran binder, Honduran filler. Expect a medium-bodied smoke loaded with toasty wood, cedar, white pepper, and a sweet streak of vanilla, all on an easy draw.
