The V cigar cutter or V-cutter is one of the cutter types many cigar smokers swear by. The V-cutter gets its name from the blade which has been bent into a V shape with a razor sharp point. Most models work just like a guillotine cutter in terms of providing good power and precision. The difference is the cut itself which forms a unique cleft in the cap. The length of the cleft may also vary by the ring gauge of the cigar. Like the punch, the cut is recessed, so there are no loose tobacco bits. It also concentrates the smoke to the palate like a punch cutter, and in some cases even more so, because of the narrow shape of the cut.
