For more than 160 years, the Plasencia family has been growing tobacco in some of the most renowned and exotic regions of Nicaragua. But with Alma del Cielo - "Soul of Heaven" - they've taken that pursuit to new heights, in every sense of the word.

This Nicaraguan puro is built around tobaccos grown at Finca San Julián in Condega, a mountain farm rising more than 3,500 feet above sea level. The cooler temperatures, thinner air, and unique growing conditions produce tobacco unlike anything else in the Plasencia portfolio, making Alma del Cielo one of the most distinctive releases the family has ever created.

But the story gets even better…not only has this region been central to Nicaragua’s tobacco history, it happens to be the same area where Melalina Torres - wife of Don Nestor Plasencia - spent much of her childhood. Now named San Julian in honor of Melalina’s father, this finca is home to mountain-grown tobacco that features prominently in the Alma del Cielo blend. Every leaf is grown, harvested, and aged by the Plasencia family themselves, continuing a tradition that dates back to 1865.

The result is a remarkably refined medium-bodied smoke layered with notes of honey, roasted nuts, oak, cinnamon, leather, and dark cocoa, all underscored by a natural sweetness that lingers long after the finish. Rich in flavor yet wonderfully balanced, Alma del Cielo demonstrates how the earth – the terroir - can shape a cigar.
