Case Study cigars from Ventura Cigar Co. are a wide-ranging premium cigar collection that pay homage to the modernist architecture of Southern California. Stay with us. It's actually pretty interesting. As the company tells it: From 1945 to 1966, Arts & Architecture magazine commissioned the rising stars of mid-century architecture to design and build a series of inexpensive, efficient model homes for the post-World War II generation. In total, 26 homes were built, mostly in the Greater Los Angeles area, by renowned architects including Richard Neutra, Charles and Ray Eames, Pierre Koenig and Eero Saarinen. These now iconic homes were designed with a minimalist, modern aesthetic and have been prominently featured over the years in Hollywood films, advertising campaigns and photo essays.
And now, for the cigars. . .Comprised of 26 blends, Ventura enlisted some of the world's top cigar blenders to create the Case Study cigar collection. Although the company can't reveal the blenders' names, "the signature of their craft will be recognizable to cigar fans that pay close attention," says Ventura's Chief Marketing Officer, Jason Carignan.
We're talking about a long list of first-rate smokes here folks. Just about every shape and size cigar is covered, along with practically every shade and origin of wrapper leaf. The regular production shapes feature a white bland with black font, while the limited edition band colors are reversed. Suffice it to say, smoking is believing. Browse through the line and choose the Case Study cigar that's right for you.
I really like the CS/13. It has a nice dark oily texture, has a very good flavor and is constructed well. These are definitely better when left in the humidor for a few weeks.
