Crowned Heads Coroneta Maduro cigars are a masterful fusion of flawlessly-aged tobaccos from five different countries. Blended by cigar maker icon, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo himself, and handcrafted at his Casa Carrillo factory in Santiago, the Dominican Republic, the three compadres represented in the Coroneta Maduro cadre are: Earl (5x52), Duke (5½x54), and Baron (6x56).
“We felt so strongly about the Coroneta brand that we tapped the ‘Godfather of Boutique Cigars,’ Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, to partner with us on developing the Maduro version,” said Crowned Heads co-founder, Jon Huber.
The full-bodied blend consists of a dark and oily Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper that embraces a lighter Ecuadorian Connecticut binder, and select fillers hailing from Nicaragua, Pennsylvania, and the Dominican Republic.
Coroneta is Spanish for “little crown,” while the names of each vitola comes from crowns worn during the 16th century by the lower ranks of British nobility—Earl, Duke, and Baron. Those crowns featured a strawberry leaf that you’ll also find elegantly adorning each Coroneta band.
