But what stands out about Cunning is the wrapper: This sly fox employs an Ecuador Connecticut Shade leaf that's cloud-grown, instead of under a tent as done in Connecticut and elsewhere. This makes the leaf a little thicker, a little darker, and more flavorful than your average Connecticut Shade. More than you'd expect from a cigar that might normally be pegged as "mild," the medium-bodied smoke is vivid, creamy-smooth, and delicious; not shocking, given Cunning's well-heeled Joya pedigree, though we'd agree that the affordable price will come as a pleasant surprise.
