The Diesel Vintage Natural has been praised for a more mellow touch than its predecessor…but that signature Diesel boldness still lurks within. It’s an all-Nicaraguan core consisting of an Esteli Habano binder bunched around Jalapa Habano fillers that have been aged for five to seven years. But the difference is the use of a lighter Ecuador Habano wrapper leaf.
According to STG’s Justin Andrews, the natural wrapper was chosen “to deliver a transformative effect on the blend and make the aging of the filler more pronounced.” The result is a medium-full smoke that issues notes of cream, earth, hazelnut, and spice for a smoke that, per Justin, “also introduces layers of rich and satisfying complexity”
