Henry Clay Stalk Cut cigars are so named for the innovational stalk-cutting method used for harvesting the vintage 2012 Connecticut broadleaf wrappers that grace this classic, Cuban heritage cigar brand. Additionally, the core tobaccos, consisting of Dominican Piloto Cubano, Dominican Olor, and Nicaraguan Criollo, all come from harvests between 2010 and 2013.This new-fangled blend was developed by Altadis U.S.A.'s Grupo de Maestros who have created a bold, full-flavored cigar brimming with earthy-spicy flavors. The advantage to stalk-cutting is, rather than harvesting the tobacco leaf-by-leaf, the entire plant is cut in the field, then taken to a curing barn to be hang-dry. This process allows the tobacco to retain its nutrients, resulting in a much more flavorful tobacco. Available in three popular sizes, fans of Connecticut broadleaf maduro will notice the improvement immediately, in this stunning new medium-full selection.
