In 2011, master blender and cigar maker extraordinaire, Manuel Quesada introduced his Oktoberfest cigars to the world and each year since a newer version has been created. These cigars were made to pair perfectly with hearty and flavorful beers. This 2016 year delivers a new Dominican version as well as a new Nicaraguan version. There are now seven sizes in the line, five being Dominican and two being Nicaraguan. Quesada is probably known best as the creator of the Casa Magna which took top cigar honors back in 2008, but his Oktoberfest has really become incredibly popular with the cigar smoking faithful. The Dominican versions are full bodied puros with notes of earthiness, leather and dark chocolate on the palate. The Nicaraguans are puros as well, with the binder, filler tobaccos and the wrapper leaf hailing from different regions within the Central American country. These flavor bombs have distinct complex notes of dark chocolate, espresso, earth and a hint of black cherry as you come to the finish. The good people at Quesada will admit that each year is getting tougher and tougher to top the previous year's versions but that's the goal and they haven't failed the cigar smoking faithful yet! It doesn't have to be October to enjoy these so order a box now.
