Villiger 1888 Fuerte cigars are one of those rare finds that come along every so often and become a regular favorite. Capped with a lightly-sweet Mexican San Andrés Negro Claro wrapper, a Peruvian Habano-seed binder frames a blend of Ligeros from countries of undisclosed origin making this well-made cigar even more intriguing. Although the ligero core and "Fuerte" name would suggest this cigar was going to be strong, after a peppery start, the cigar rounds-out to a smooth, creamy, medium-bodied smoke right down the line. Notes of molasses and nuts are followed by cedary spice and dried fruit on a sweet finish, as the smoke transitions to the "medium-full" realm in the final third. The Villiger 1888 Fuerte also offers an impressively even burn with a firm ash.
