Once the most extravagant and respected cigar brands in the world. German businessman Emillio Ohmsted established the brand in Havana, with traditions that date back to 1848. Antionio Allones helped the brand reach worldwide success in 1882, and years later the company was bought by the Diaz Hermanos y Cia venture then renamed El Rey Del Mundo. The owner of the brand fled to Honduras during the revolution, leading to the Honduran version of the cigar.
It’s blend is comprised of Tripa Larga, long filler and binder tobacco grown in the Vuelta Abajo region. El Rey Mundo cigars are available in 2 types of wrappers. The Oscuro selection is rolled in a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and the El Rey Mundo naturals line is finished in a Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. This medium to full bodied smoke offers a banquet of flavors including earth, spice, caramel and coca. This box is well worth the buy!
