Pospiech Cigars
Polish-American brothers Mike and Greg Szczepankewicz ran a thriving retail cigar store in Florida for years before digging into their heritage to create Powstanie cigars--pronounced "poh-shan-yah." Taking a page from history, the brand's name and logo utilize a symbol popularized by the Polish Resistance during World War II. The name itself is Polish for "uprising."
Partnering with Esteban Disla and Skip Martin of Fabrica de Tabacos NicaSueno S.A. (known for making RoMa Craft), the foursome found success in two unique Pospiech blends.
Brother Greg created Powstanie Maduro, a rich blend of Estelí ligero and Nicaraguan long-fillers from Jalapa and Condega's Pueblo Nuevo region, bound in savory Indonesian leaf, and wrapped in beautifully dark, oily Broadleaf Maduro. The Maduro is medium-full with a dark, creamy, and spicy profile. Brother Mike crafted the Powstanie Habano--a blend of Dominican Criollo, Nicaraguan Estelí ligero, and tobaccos from Condega and Jalapa, bunched in an Indonesian binder, and wrapped in creamy Ecuadorian Habano. A true premium that leans hard on the full side of medium-full.
In addition to Powstanie, these brothers carry the boutique Fourth Prime from Fable Cigars. A masterful premium with a mathematical theme, the story of Fourth Prime pays homage to the fourth prime number, 7, and the significance it holds in religion, philosophy, mathematics, music, and pop culture. Four vitolas drive the numerical drama in this gripping series--Sapta, Marsenne, Mi, and Doc--each reflecting the number 7. Also made at Fabrica de Tabacos NicaSueno S.A., Fourth Prime cigars are medium-full-bodied blends of Nicaraguan and Dominican long-filler, Ecuadorian Habano Ligero binder, and dark, sweet Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper.
