Toscano traces its roots to Florence, Italy in 1815, when an accidental fermentation of Kentucky tobacco led to the creation of a cigar unlike any other in the world. That happy accident sparked over 200 years of Italian tobacco craftsmanship, with cigars still handcrafted today at the historic factory in Lucca using American and Italian-grown Kentucky fire-cured tobacco. This bold, robust leaf defines Toscano's unmistakable flavor and sets it apart from every other premium cigar on the market.
What makes Toscano cigars different starts with their construction. These Italian cheroots are dry-cured, meaning they don't require humidification like most premium cigars, making them incredibly convenient for smokers on the go or those without a humidor. The distinctive double-cone tapered shape and firm construction deliver a slow, satisfying burn. Unlike traditional premium cigars, Toscano cigars have no binder leaf, the fillers are held in place simply by the wrapper, which looks rougher and more rustic than polished Caribbean wrappers. Both ends are pre-cut, allowing you to smoke the entire cigar or cut it in half for two separate sessions.
The tobacco itself undergoes a unique fire-curing process in closed environments filled with oak and beech wood smoke for around two weeks, making Kentucky tobacco intensely smoky and distinctive with notes of mesquite, hickory, and charred wood. This fire-curing guarantees good conservation without humidification.
Toscano Classico uses a combination of American and Italian dark-fired Kentucky with an Italian wrapper, delivering intensely smoky, medium-full body with earthy, peppery flavor. Toscano Antico uses the same blend but with an American dark-fired wrapper, kicking the body up to full strength. The Garibaldi sports a dark, oily, veiny Kentucky wrapper with spicy espresso-coffee profile. The 1492 celebrates Columbus with 100 percent American Kentucky fire-cured tobacco and full-bodied hickory flavor. Toscano Italia uses Kentucky-seed fire-cured tobaccos grown entirely in Italy, celebrating the terroir of Tuscan soil.
