Dion Giolito gives the Gigantes Connecticut a broad 6 1/2 x 56 frame, handmade in Nicaragua with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos that include Criollo ’98 and Corojo ’99. Toasted cedar, earth, light black pepper, hearty tobacco, and a thread of sweetness make it feel creamy and relaxed, like buttered toast with white pepper and warm hay.
