From the first cut, the 1935 Anniversary Edicion Diamante No. 2 shows why Montecristo saves this shape for special blends, with a 6 1/2 x 56 torpedo rolled in Nicaragua by Rafael Nodal and AJ Fernandez using aged Esteli filler, an Ometepe Criollo binder, and a Jalapa hybrid wrapper in medium-full territory. Cocoa, roasted nuts, oak, sweet cream, earth, and spice come in clean layers, giving the smoke a refined, old-school feel with plenty of flavor.
