Pi Synesthesia Red is the second release from Ozgener Family Cigars in a single vitola, 6 x 52 Toro. Inspired by an abstract painting of the same name done by Tim Ozgener’s late father and CAO Cigars founder, Cano A. Ozgener. The painting appears in miniature on the cigar’s band. Since the color red evokes things like heat, red peppers, and spicy foods, the challenge was to create a blend that tastes like the color red. To do things with tobacco of that magnitude you need a master blender like Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. Ernesto decided to use a superior Ecuador Sumatra wrapper over a savory blend of thoroughly-aged Nicaraguan fillers from several regions. The smoke issues a rich, refined, and natural tobacco flavor. Notes of sweet cream, toasted nuts, and earth ensue. Stopping just short of full-bodied, the blend is very approachable.
