The annual limited edition Powstanie Wojtek "War Bear" cigar is a slick looking barber pole format, using Ecuadorian Habano and Mexican San Andres tobacco leaves. The name Wojtek stems from a Syrian brown bear who was purchased to assist the Poland military in moving stockpiles of ammunition and supplies during WWII. Wojtek the "War Bear" was even enlisted as a Polish soldier, and during his tenure ended up with the rank of corporal. The majestic 490-pound bear's war stories became very popular with the Polish nation after World War II ended making Wojtek famous throughout central Europe.
