First the standard premium, where we’re using Blackbird Glitch Habano. A “happy accident” in Blackbird’s Dominican factory led to this delicious recipe that leans hard on Habano cedar and spice, the profile evolves through a combo of flavors as “normal” cigars usually do. Contrast that with the Aganorsa Lunatic Hysteria Barber Pole: its eye-catching wrapper is two different leaves rolled together, a pairing of Mexican San Andrés & Ecuador Connecticut. This dynamic duo offers a wider array of flavors, but with fewer transitions from beginning to end - rich tobacco, earth, spice, pepper, and subtle sweetness work together as the cigar progresses. Finally, it’s the Joya Cabinetta Series from Joya de Nicaragua. The Doble Capa weaves a tale of two different flavor profiles: the first act, using Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade, is smooth, mild, and creamy, featuring traditional notes of cedar, and almonds…as the burn line hits the transition point (at the band) and shifts to sun-grown Criollo, the profile changes dramatically: a surge of medium-to-full-bodied strength, dominated by earth, leather, spice, and espresso.
