Raices Cubanas Cigars

After years of crafting award-winning cigars for others in their Danlí, Honduras factory, Raices Cubanas has broken out with their own brands. Raices Cubanas translates to "Cuban Roots" – a name that reflects owner Romay Endemaño’s Cuban tobacco heritage, before he, his wife Maria, and their son Hugo Endemaño emigrated and settled in Honduras. Their cigar manufacturing operation was formed in 2003.

Raices Cubanas’ Honduras factory has been a certifiable cigar hitmaker, cranking out numerous award-winning and highly regarded cigars for Alec Bradley (the Endemaños and AB’s Ralph Montero first crossed paths in 1998), as well as Viaje, Illusione, and many others. The factory has been recognized as among the 25 best producers of cigars in the world for the US market, combining “the entrepreneurial spirit that characterizes the Cubans and the quality of Honduran work.”

After years of manufacturing for others, the Endemaños decided it was time for cigar lovers everywhere to know the Raices Cubanas name, and for more than just making other brands’ cigars. They’ve moved from behind-the-scenes producer to consumer-facing brand with four lines: the sophisticated Liga de Reyes, a masterful combination of seven distinct tobaccos that is “fit for kings.” The Clasico line offers mild to medium strength, with smooth, sweet, and creamy notes. Their C5 Black draws inspiration from "el Corte Cinco", meaning the Fifth Priming - the last and uppermost leaves harvested from a tobacco plant –known for rich, full-bodied character. Last is the GRanD3 collection, which celebrates the big ring gauge experience.
